Giorgio Armani unveils the Samsung B7620 fashion icon

Today Samsung and Giorgio Armani announced their new joint device – the Samsung B7620 Giorgio Armani. It’s a Windows Mobile 6.5 powered smartphone with a full QWERTY keyboard and a slide-and-tilt screen. Just by the golden looks of it, you should be able to tell it’s an expensive toy – and it is with its 700 euro pricetag.

Samsung B7620 Giorgio Armani is certainly not the first Samsung handset wearing the Armani logo, since the first Armani phone (P520) and the music-oriented M7500 Emporio Armani are already aging out there.
The B7620 Giorgio Armani is a uniquely styled golden handset, which has high-rolling executives in its sight. This expensive gadget has it all – a 3.5-inches AMOLED resistive touchscreen, a 5 megapixel camera, HSPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, TV-out capabilities, DivX/XviD support, 8 gigs internal storage expandable via microSD card slot and a sliding full QWERTY keyboard.
The CPU is as hot as the fashion logo (hope not literally though), since the B7620 uses an ARM1176 CPU running at 800MHz and packs 192MB RAM.

The new Samsung Giorgio Armani phone will sport the Work&Life interface, which filters your personal data (contacts, messages, calendar events, calls, etc) from the business one. You can easily switch back and forth between your business and personal data with a single push of a key. We already saw this mode switch in the B7610 OmniaPRO.

The WinMo smartphone will also come with an exclusive Giorgio Armani application that will deliver image and video from the Armani fashion lines.

The fashionable Samsung B7620 Giorgio Armani will be available soon in Italy, UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Russia, China, and UAE (Dubai) with a pricetag of 700 euro.

Sony Ericsson Aino, Yari, Jalou and Naite hit the stores as well

Shortly after the release of the Sony Ericsson Satio, here comes the launch of the Aino, Yari and Naite. With those three fellows released almost the full Sony Ericsson portfolio is on the market now with only the X2 and the XPERIA Pureness waiting in the line for release.

From now on the Sony Ericsson Aino, Yari, Jalou and Naite are available for purchase. After the launch of the long awaited Satio, it seems that Sony Ericsson just can’t stop pushing their phones out in the wild.

The Aino can be yours for nearly 420 euro, while the Yari can fit in your hand for 250 euro. The fashion-conscious Jalou is priced at 170 euro, while the eco-friendly Naite will cost you around 200 euro and it might not save the nature, but will still will make quite a few green guys happy.

Almost the whole Sony Ericsson phone lineup has been released now and there is only XPERIA X2 and Pureness left in the works officially. It’s a public secret that the XPERIA X3, also known as Rachael, is cooking somewhere hidden from the public and it’s rumored to be announced next month. It should be the company’s first Android smartphone. Let’s hope the income of the released trio will help push SonyEricsson through Q4 so that they will be able to finish all their planned stuff.

Chicken Tikka Masala

2 pounds of Boneless Chicken Breasts

¼ cup of Plain Yogurt

3 tsp. of Ginger (Adrak) (minced)

3 tsp. of Garlic (Lehsan) (crushed)

¼ tsp. of White Pepper

¼ tsp. of Cumin Powder (Pisa Zeera)

¼ tsp. of Mace

¼ tsp. of Nutmeg

¼ tsp. of Green Cardamom Powder (Ilaichi Powder)

¼ tsp. of Red Chilli Powder (Pisi Lal Mirchain)

¼ tsp. of Turmeric Powder (Pisi Haldi)

3 tbsp. of Lemon Juice (Nimbu Ka Arakh)

Margarine (melted – for basting)

4 tbsp. of Vegetable Oil

2 pounds of Tomatoes (chopped)

2 tsp. of Green Chillies (Hari Mirch) (finely chopped)

2 tsp. of Cloves (Loung)

8 Green Cardamoms (Choti Ilaichi)

2 tsp. of Ginger (Adrak) (julienned)

1 tsp. of Fenugreek

5 ounces of Tomato Paste

10 ounces of Tomato Puree

2 tsp. of Ginger Paste (Pisi Adrak)

2 tsp. of Garlic Paste (Pisa Lehsan)

1 tbsp. of Red Chilli Powder (Pisi Lal Mirch)

Salt (to taste)

3 tbsp. of Butter

2/3 cup of Cream

Honey (Shehed) (to taste)

1) Whisk together all of the ingredients (not the sauce ingredients) in a large bowl. Add the chicken breast, cut into 2 inch cubes. Marinate overnight in the refrigerator. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Bake the chicken for 8 minutes, basting with margarine twice. Drain excess marinade and bake for another 2 minutes.

2) While doing this, make the sauce. Deseed and chopped green chilies. Put tomatoes, tomato paste and tomato puree in a pot and add approximately 4-1/4 cups of water. Add ginger and garlic paste, green chilies, red chili powder, cloves, cardamoms, and salt. Cook over low heat until reduced to a thick sauce. Strain through a strainer and bring to a boil. Add butter and cream. Stir. If the sauce tastes sour, add honey to taste. Add fenugreek and ginger juliennes, stir, and serve with the chicken.

Chicken Masala

1 pound of Chicken Fillets (cut into ½” (1 cm) cubes)

1 small Onion (finely chopped)

1 tsp. Red Chilli Powder (Pisi Lal Mirch)

½ tsp. Ginger Powder (Adrak Powder)

1 clove of Garlic (Lehsan) (crushed)

Salt (to taste)

¼ tsp. Turmeric Powder (Pisi Haldi)

1 tsp. Garam Masala Powder

1 tsp. Coriander Powder (Pisa Dhania)

6 tbsp. Clarified Butter (Ghee) or Cooking Oil

½ can of Tomatoes (chopped)

2 tbsp. Fresh Coriander/Cilantro Leaves (Hara Dhania) (finely chopped)

Heat the clarified butter or oil in a cooking pan. When oil is hot add the onion; fry the onion, until it is golden brown.

Add the red chilli powder, ginger powder, salt, turmeric powder, coriander powder and fry the spices for about two minutes. (By adding a little water if necessary.)

Add the tomatoes and continuously stir it for ten minutes or until the butter leaves the spices.

Add the chicken cubes and stir them in the masala spice to get the chicken pieces nicely coated.

Add ½ cup of water and leave the chicken to cook on a low light for fifteen minutes (covered). Remove the lid, stir the chicken and cook for further ten minutes.

When the butter starts to come out, add ¼ cup of water, sprinkle garam masala powder and coriander/cilantro leaves. Mix and cover the pan for five to six minutes.

Vodafone UK playing catch up, will sell iPhone 3G / 3GS as well

Following yesterday’s press release dialogue between Orange and O2 on the matter of O2 losing iPhone exclusivity in the UK, Vodafone are also joining in on the discussion by just announcing that they have also scored an iPhone deal meaning that the UK iPhone market is now officially going free-for-all.

Today Vodafone PR team successfully managed to beat their own record for theshortest press release ever. It seems that the PR guys have been having too much Twitter for breakfast as otherwise we can hardly explain how they’ve managed to shrink the news down to a single sentence.

At least they’re straight to the point stating that Vodafone have also scored a deal with Apple for distributing the iPhone 3G/3GS in the UK agreement with Apple and Vodafone will start selling the two devices starting in early 2010.

Vodafone is surely quick to catch up with the competing carriers as it was only yesterday that Orange announced they’ll start selling the iPhone 3G and 3GS in UK and Ireland.

Vodafone pricing and more exact availability will be announced sometime in the upcoming months – hopefully, in more than 160 characters.

Nokia considering Palm acquisition, we hold our breath

Now we don’t normally deal with that kind of rumors but this one is too interesting to let go. According to a leading financial website the world leading mobile phone manufacturer is interested in obtaining the troubled Palm.

The company standing behind the development of one of the most exciting touchscreen devices of the year – the Palm Pre, is going through a really rough patch lately and might just find an offer from Nokia too hard to refuse.

Despite having an R&D budget more than 10 times smaller than that of the Finnish giant, Palm managed to develop a touch-driven OS way more fluid and user-friendly than Symbian S60 5th edition. That makes such an acquisition quite sensible as it would allow Nokia to close the gap to its competitors much faster.

At this stage both companies refuse to comment on the rumors but we guess we will understand whether its true or not sooner rather than later.

AT&T says hello to VoIP over 3G with Skype and iPhone 3G, 3GS

Today AT&T has officially announced its readiness to support VoIP applications over its 3G network for the iPhone. Up until now the the Apple iPhone 3G and 3GS users were limited to using only Wi-Fi connection for VoIP services.

Effective now those handsets will be able to make calls over 3G with VoIP-enabled software such as the Skype app.

Additionally, AT&T allows customers to download or launch on their wireless devices a multitude of compatible applications, which were so far rejected from the App store.

The consequences of this move remain to be seen but we are hoping the increased network data transfers won’t bring the overall speed down noticeably.

Toshiba put K01, K02 and L02 on display at CEATEC 09 in Japan

A leaked Toshiba roadmap several months back mentioned several new smart devices planned. Up until now we had no idea how they would look, but Toshiba went ahead and displayed their prototypes at the CEATEC show currently held in Japan.

Though the rumored TG02 and TG02 were not on display, the Toshiba K01 was showcased. Running on WinMo 6.5, it has the same form factor as Nokia N900 for example, with a slide-out full QWERTYkeyboard. It’s only 15mm thick (18mm for N900) and has a 4.1-inch WVGA capacitive display and a 3 megapixel camera. The Toshiba K01 should be announced before the end of the year.

The Toshiba K02 was also on display at the CEATEC 2009. With a detachable QWERTY keyboard, K02 is a clamshell with a main 3.5-inch resistive touchscreen display and an external secondary screen. The K02 runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 much like the K01. The Toshiba K02 should be announced in January 2010.

The last of the bunch is Toshiba L01 – a 7-inch touchscreen tablet. The display has a WVGA resolution and the operating system is again WinMo 6.5. The L01 has a detachable QWERTY keyboard (optional, but visible on the photo). The Toshiba L01 should be announced in Q4 2009.

Toshiba also went ahead and demonstrated another device that’s still unnamed. It’s a slider with a regular keypad but with a large touchscreen display.

Just remember that all this tech information was taken from the roadmap that leaked before – Toshiba didn’t release any new info today but we hope to hear more from them before the end of the year.

Today Toshiba also revealed their new wireless transfer technology dubbed TransferJet. The TransferJet technology lets you easily transfer data among different types of devices (phones, PCs,notebooks, etc.) by simply touching the two gadgets. The maximum transfer speed is surprisingly high – up to 200Mbps. Toshiba even went as far as demoing the tech live using a notebook and a modified TG01.
